Cerebus Action Figure Jan 2016 update (a little early)

Xmas countdown with EJ Feddes'1989 remembrance of a Cerebus movie compared to The Simpsons. Sorta:)
From the countdown: "I was a big fat dork, and I didn’t know a single person who cared about the stuff I loved. And it wasn’t the buffet of awesome that it is now. Animation was largely dead except for toy tie-ins. There was no Pixar or Adult Swim. It was just me thinking about how awesome it would be if they made a Cerebus movie and nobody wanted to hear me talk about Cerebus. But The Simpsons, that was a popular thing that I loved. It didn’t make me cool or well-liked, but at least I could be enthusiastic about something and other people knew what I was talking about."

And another xmas counbtdown with Dave Sim as #1

What blurry transitional scene!

test render
Bare with me as I think it will be effective in fuller context - if not we'll go the conventional route and have the "depth of field" inverted. Everything was rendered "in focus" so can easily switch the blurriness in post. Here's an alternative with the focus inverted at the very end - if we go that route can also have it go a little earlier:)

Norwegian historian, Øystein Sørensen, shares today his original Lord Julius  artwork used on the exclusive postcard in the ongoing Cerebus Kickstarter campaign

here's another original Cerebus artwork piece he posted today

Alex Raymond's Agent X9 has been reprinted monthly since 1974 in Norway - final issue now on sale. Below the bad reprint quality compared to IDW's latest high quality reprint offering. The Norwegian comic though titled "Agent X9" was a detective comic anthology featuring also other strips such as Alex's "Rip Kirby" among others, below I believe is from the amazing Al Williamson run on the series

To keep up with demand additional Agent X9 stories were created by King Features exclusively for the Scandinavian comic (it was also popular in Sweden, Denmark and Finland )

New episode of podcast "Wait, What?" with a spotlight on Cerebus

Comics Journal spotlight Puma Blues "..placing it in proximity with two of the period’s most enduring successes, Cerebus and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"

Comics Review looks at Puma Blues calling Dave Sim "the Moses of Independent creators"  who "trail-blazed the entire phenomenon for the rest of us. Passionately, stridently non-“mainstream”, he soldiered on"

Menachem Luchins, comic store owner of Escape Pod Comics:
Just an FYI, if you guys aren't reading Hereville by Barry Deutsch you're missing out on a lot of classic Sim-inspired paneling and lettering. I mean, you're also missing out on a great series, the third volume of which I just finished reading in it's final form. I noticed at least 4 Sim "lifts" that Barry pulled off so amazingly! It's a great book and a wonderful series. If your shop doesn't carry it, I can provide, though we are low on stock.

Jimmy Gownley (creator of NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING graphic novel "AMELIA RULES!" through Scholastic Books) will take a favorite sequence from CEREBUS (getting Sean to e-mail him the restored/and or original art scans for that sequence) and then draw his character into the sequence and do that as a series of digital prints at the forthcoming Cerebus GoFundMe site.
Plan is to have other professional comic artists do likewise.
