What Transfer #6. What last Necross scene in progress?

6th Necross animation transfer by Nick Wolensky. He transferred animation from our old base model/rig to a new unrigged detailed model. Something we thought when we started out would be an easy thing to accomplish, but Nick succeeded where many riggers before had tried -and really got us out of a hole. Truly a God among men!:)
The above is our very last Necross animation, and the scene still needs tweaking -but now tweaking with the actual detailed intended model thanks to Nick.

What Rig! Despuess! What Transfer! What Meeting!

5th Necross animation transfer by Nick Wolensky. Nick is so fast he's catching up with the animators, on this one the animation isn't done yet. The animator will now continue animating with the new transferred file.

Soon all the Necross files will be transferred and then all that remains to be transferred is the Despuess animations -for that we have a Despuess model underway by Brian Buchmann (who also modeled Necross, The Wizard as seen at the top of our blog post today, and Cerebus below).

We also have some new animation underway by Marta Belda. This is the scene where Cerebus meets his "Brothers-in-crime" as seen below:

What Code? Transfer!...and what is Cerebus supposed to do?

Nick Wolensky has steamlined the transferring of animation (from a rigged base model to an unrigged detailed model) with code he's written -so the process is going fast, so fast I can't keep up with the rendering and compositing...would have liked to have mixed up some close-ups and wideshots and various angles. Anyway, below we have his stellar work, and I apologize for hasty renders/composites/edits/static camera placement:)

What Props!?

speaking of props: all of our props for Cerebus are now pretty much done as of yesterday. Now playing around with placements of the props on Cerebus.
To explain why there are two versions: the working title of the film is "Cerebus - Tale of a Fractured Destiny". This fracturing happens when Cerebus, in order to fit in, trades his helmet for a "merchant vest" and paints his medallions with the "Merchant Guild Symbols". Had he not done so he would have become "the chosen one" and become "brute force triumphant". Luckily for all his destiny did get fractured:)
This story can be found in the comic series -if you read: issues #1, #4, #5 and #13 -though the important revelation in #196.

Bonus! It all starts with a Cerebus head sketch request from Jesse Herndon in Massachussetts and ends up with the C-Minus Kid "rocking out" to the 'Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers' theme song. Only on CEREBUS TV.

Both based on Soldier #1 modeled by Akanksha Poddar, in fact it is the same model. Brian Buchmann added variations so we'd have multiples, yet still remain uniform in appearance -variances such as adjustments to the face, neck arms, increased shoulder and helmet size. Below is the main scene the soldiers appear in.
